◎Proposal for a monthly custom
Saku-Shisaku toiu Ma 【An Encouragement of Evening Contemplation】
On January 1, 2024, at 4:10 PM, the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake occurred, causing significant damage to the area centering around the Noto Peninsula.
A year has passed, but many people are still unable to return to their original way of life.
To ensure that we do not forget this day and to pray for recovery, we propose to share a moment of silence with all visitors on the first day of each month during the Exhibition【Dawn to Themselves】period.
Announcements will be made via the museum's internal broadcasting system at the beginning and end of the moment of silence.
For approximately three minutes, starting from 4:10 PM, we kindly ask that you refrain from talking, making noise, or taking photographs.
We appreciate your cooperation.

Notice of our joint admission agreement with Ishikawa NISHIDA KITARO Museum of Philosophy
Nishida Kitaro and Daisetz Teitaro Suzuki, both born in 1870, remained friends for life.
Encouraging and respecting each other from their respective standpoints, they developed to become two of Japan’s leading thinkers,
far exceeding the realm of scholarship alone.
In connection with the relationship of these two philosophers,
every year from May 19th (Nishida Kitaro’s birthday) to November 11th (Daisetz’s birthday) visitors to one museum can use their admission
ticket stub to gain free admittance to the other museum. (A ticket stub is only valid for one entry.)
Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity.
On Mondays, both of the museums are closed.
November 11th is Monday this year, so ticket stubs are valid until November 10th.

lInternational Museum Day Commemorative Event
We hold the Tasogare [Twilight] Space Tour on May 18 every year, commemorating the International Museum Day designated by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in 1977.
Episodes related to D. T. Suzuki and illuminated and darkened viewing spots are introduced by our curator.
Also, you can enjoy watching the Water Mirror Garden at twilight.
It cannot be strictly defined what time of the day Tasogare [twilight] hours refer to.
The word “tasogare” indicates the dusky time in the evening when it becomes difficult to recognize people’s faces.
It has long been said that twilight offers mysterious encounters with spiritual beings.
In this event, we hope you will be able to have an extraordinary time and experience times and places that cannot be expressed digitally.

We continue to hold “The Contemplative Experience Program,” for example, “An Encouragement of Morning Contemplation” once in 2 months.
We made a new card for introducing the Program in 2021-22.

one of the D. T. Suzuki’s Museum’s three gardens.
The back of the card (monochrome ) features“ The Contemplative Space”,
one of the Museum’s three spaces.
